This dream became a reality when the golf course designers George and Tom Fazio came into the picture. Tom Fazio was voted Golf Course Architect of the Year by Golf Course News five years in a row.
Each hole has a personality of its own with a unique and picturesque view different from the last. If you dare to take the challenge the "Devil's Triangle" are the Signature holes on Mahogany Run Golf Course. Holes 13, 14, and 15 make up this challenging and exciting triangle. Hole 13 is a 327 yard par 4 that takes an awakening skill in order to hit the green that is formed out of the hillside. Hole 14 is the center of the "Devil's Triangle" and is a 173 yard par 3. This hole gives you a face off with the Atlantic Ocean to hit the green. Many golfers have lost a ball when going out over the Atlantic in search of the green. The islands in the distance are very distracting as is the whirling winds and churning waters of the sea below. Hole 15 is not a hole to take lightly. It is a 560 yard par 5. If you can make it over the pond that guards the green without going out of bounds you have mastered this unique hole. Any golfer that takes this challenge and plays all three without a penalty stroke will be the proud owner of an "I Survived The Devil's Triangle" certificate from the Club's Pro Shop. Rates for playing a round of golf vary according to the tourist season and golf packages are available. Golf packages are person with a minimum of a three 18 hole purchase. The rates include green fees, cart fees and club storage. Usually the fees are around $225.00 from June to September and $260.00 from October to December. For other times you will need to contact the pro shop at 800-253-7103. Individual Tee Times can be made up to 48 hours in advance of the date in which you wish to play by calling the pro shop. Group bookings are also available by calling 800-253-7103 extension 2 or 340-777-6006 extension 2. Groups are booked under certain conditions which include 12 or more players on the same day, the organizer of the group must sign a contract, green fees, cart fees and the gratuity has to be pre-paid 30 days in advance and the entire group must agree to the cancellation policy. If you are planning on playing the Mahogany Run Golf Course while you are on a cruise, then you should book your tee time directly with the golf course. Booking through the cruise ship does not mean that your time is booked until the cruise ship contacts the golf course. It would be best if you could book your tee time before setting sail to St. Thomas. You can book in advance by calling the Pro Shop at 800-253-7103, extension 1, or 340-777-6250, extension 1. The pro shop at Mahogany Run Golf Course is spectacular and has all the wonderful items that you enjoy for your round of golf plus many extra items just for your pleasure. All the famous name sportswear designers can be found such as Tommy Hilfiger, Ashworth, Oxford, Gear, Monterey Club and Bette & Court. Also all the popular top brands including Titleist, Pinnacle, Top Flight and Precept are sold at the pro shop. Callaway and Cobra Clubs available for men and ladies and for left and right handed players can be rented at the pro shop. In 1980, construction began and it was no picnic. This marvelous golf course was chiseled and sometimes blasted out of less than 110 acres. It was if a sculptor took out his chisel and worked steadily day after day until his masterpiece was complete. The entire golf course is only 77,000 square feet but is a complete 18 hole championship course with a 6,022 yard and a par 70.
