Brewers Bay

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

St. Thomas Brewers Bay is located near the University of the Virgin Islands in the southwest end across from the entrance to the Reichold Center for the Arts, route 30 Brewers Bay Road. The Beach is not secluded but unpopulated most part of the week when the inhabitants are at work and liven up on weekends with light activities making this beach the favorite destination for families.

Brewers Bay on St. Thomas USVI Protected from the easterly trade winds, Brewers Bay is an excellent place to relax and swim in the quiet lake-like water, enjoy with the fair snorkeling or simply sunning as lots of locals do in their spare time; all these are the main activities here because the beach itself is open to the public although it is literally part of the university campus and the natural environment is maintained by the academic personnel in charge.

While there are no bathrooms, restrooms or any other amenities the visitors will delight Brewers Bay vista bordered with palm and sea grapes trees scattered along the shoreline. The strip of white coral sand is almost as long as the beach at Magen's Bay and the tasty light meals and cool refreshments available from trucks that park along the road round the visit to this beach. Additionally, on weekends and throughout all days during the high season it is usual to see roadside vendors offering food and souvenirs.

Accessibility to Brewers Bay is also limited to public buses and taxis are not frequent but the driving park for particular cars is along the brief 2-lane roadway, however St. Thomas' capital airport is near enough and the beach easily reachable from Charlotte Amalie taken the Fortuna bus heading west and getting off at the edge of Brewers Bay, across from the Reichhold Center.

Take your time to appreciate Brewers Bay natural harbor and listening on the radio calypso music, reggae, salsa and many other Caribbean genres along with American pop, blues and oldies rock and roll wearing jeans, t-shirts, jerseys and other western style cloth as the friendly locals use to dress and don't forget the insect repellant.
