Coki Beach

Coki Beach, also known as Coki Point Beach, is a must-visit open to the public touristy destination located in the meeting point of the Caribbean and the Tropical Atlantic, north-east end side of the island, approximately 20 minutes away from Havensight dock (where the cruise ships arrive) and adjacent to the entrance of Coral World in St. Thomas, considered as home of some of the best snorkeling in the US Virgin Islands.

Coki Beach is highly popular among international visitors, tour groups, cruise ships passengers and locals tending to be middling crowded however offering one of the most pristine and very calm waters in the Caribbean Sea with white soft sand to lay out, snorkel at the shore rocky reef area, learn scuba diving or sunbathing although beachfront which, in many cases, is private property owned by the wide variety of Hotels nearby.

If you want something more sophisticated there is always the option to visit the friendly bars and restaurants around, some of them with picnic tables to enjoy a pleasant lunch time by the beach side.

Accessibility to Coki beach is also granted by car, bus or taxis usually on hand at the proximity to the international famous Coral World Marine Park where your admission includes unlimited re-entries to this underwater attraction, its chambers and the 80,000 gallon reef tank aquarium containing tropical fish, corals and sponges among other sea specimens making it popular as part of the cruise circuit.

Coki Beach is a child friendly destination and underwater activities for non-divers can also be enjoyable and safe for youngsters observing just a few considerations during your visit to this beach:

Sun worshippers have to be aware of tropical sun during the mid-day hours, usually between 11am and 2 pm to avoid the high risk of serious and dangerous sunburns and it is more than advisable the use of a sun blocker at the beach.

Also, it is illegal to collect shells from any beaches in the Virgin Islands and if you do they will be confiscated at the airport customs; removing of sea fans and living coral is against the law too.
