Morningstar Beach

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

Morningstar is an active yet quiet beach, home to the Morningstar Beach Resort and its sister resort the Marriott Frenchman's Reef situated on a 17-acre bluff in the southern tip of St. Thomas, route 315, overlooking the Caribbean Sea on one side and facing the historic Charlotte Amalie on the other. This beach is surrounded by pebbles, soft white strand sand and turquoise blue waters where swimming is gentle to mild surf but rocky in certain areas

Morningstar Beach on St. Thomas USVI Morningstar Beach is a vivid beach for sunbathers to lay down on the lounge chairs, or for those travelers wanting to get some shade relaxing under the beach umbrellas while enjoy a tropical drink, rum punch and daiquiris, watching the sailboats and cruise ships slipping in and out of the Charlotte Amalie Harbor. St. Thomas was home to pirates for centuries before the Europeans arrived to colonize and the deep natural harbor at Charlotte Amalie was the favorite among pirates intent on plundering the Spanish galleons laden with golden doubloons and other valuable items.

With this vignette drawing the scenario it is frequent to find romanticized stories of piracy on Morningstar Beach and other places near Charlotte Amalie, like the well known of Blackbeard and Bluebeard adorning the scenario of the intensive ships activity early in the morning or late in the afternoon and this enchantment also attracts visitors from the nearby locations and a fair smattering of local inhabitants.

Morningstar Beach has tennis courts located around the beach for just having some fun and a full range of water sports and equipment available for rent. Morningstar Beach has its own Water Sport Center from where the access to windsurfing and surfing is granted. Snorkeling is quite poor but possible even with professional instructors on hand.

The amenities at Morning Star include bathrooms, change rooms, rest rooms, chairs and umbrellas rental, bars and restaurants serving from quick snacks to exotic meals swimming pool besides of those amenities reserved for the Marriot's guests; the beach accessibility is by taxi or car with extensive free parking facility in the hotel's parking garage at not charge.

As recommendations keep in mind these facts: beer and alcoholic drinks on the beach will dehydrate you and the best time for sunbathing is before 11:00 am or after 3:00 pm
