Ah, stare out upon the crashing waves of the Atlantic as you take your taste buds for the ride of a lifetime. The cuisine as well as the atmosphere here at Robert's American Grille is to die for!

If you're in for something different, this is the place to go. Offering a multinational selection of cuisine and an unbeatably colorful - yet subdued - atmosphere, Robert's American Grille is a surprising relief from other - how shall we say… - not-so-soothing aspects of the island.

Indeed, far off from the often-delightful chaos of the main city of St. Thomas that goes by the name Charlotte Amalie (incidentally, it's also the capital of the entire U.S. Virgin Islands territory), Robert's American Grille features some of the most interesting plates as well as some of the most delicate dining considerations on the entire St. Thomas island.

Indeed, in addition to the hardy and down-home feeling that the name implies, Robert's American Grille also ranks high in finesse. Just take, for example the layout of the place. It's an open air design, where you can sit at a table and stair out to the vast and open Atlantic beach, colored rich blue in the midday Caribbean sunshine, or smoldering red and grey in the intoxicating light of the mysterious sunset.

Really, the Robert's American Grille is all about atmosphere. But you won't believe me after you sink your teeth into one of the delicious specialty items on the menu here. In fact, you very well may come away from the Grille proclaiming it the best place that you have ever eaten in all of the Caribbean. You'll see; it's not as tall of an order as it sounds at first. The sumptuous blend of Asian spices combined with the delightful things that they can do with greenery make this an interesting - as well as savory - place to spend your lunch or dinnertime hours.

So how about drinks to help you begin the decision making process? Maybe it's the "American" in Robert's American Grille, but I think you were onto something when you settled on this place. Here at the Grille, it's almost as if the friendly staff expects you to drink like a fish. There's no pressure, of course, but the great beverage selection speaks for itself.

And how about trying an appetizer to start with? Do I see you looking to the soup and salad option? You know, they really do salads well here. With this in mind, I'd be irresponsible not to suggest the onion, walnut, tomato and poppy seed vinaigrette option that I've enjoyed time and time again here at Roberts. Wow, I can tell already that this is going to be a great meal.

Come to Robert's American Grille. It's located conveniently in the Elysian Beach resort on the eastern coast of the island (the most romantic and austere side, if you want my opinion).
